Enter writing competition

The competition is open for poems not longer than 32 lines and short stories not longer than 2 000 words.

WHISPER from the Heart Poetry Club is inviting writers to enter its worldwide poetry and short story competition, Poetry International 2019.

The competition is open for poems not longer than 32 lines and short stories not longer than 2 000 words. Entries need to be submitted as a word document.

Entrants can win one of three prizes, a first prize of R5 000, a second prize of R3 000 and a third prize of R1 500, and will have their poem or short story published in The Book of Verse and Short Stories. They will also receive a copy of the book at no charge.

The competition is limited to 250 entries. An entry fee is payable for each entry. Entrants will also need to give the club permission to include their entry in The Book.
