UPDATE: Abducted woman found in Newlands

She did not sustain any physical injuries and is currently with police and will go through a trauma counselling programme

THE woman abducted this morning in an armed hijacking in Powell Road, Morningside has been found.

Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security confirmed the woman, 54-year-old Marta Josefa Rubilar, had been found by police in the Newlands area.

She did not sustain any physical injuries and is currently with police and will go through a trauma counselling programme.

Police  are investigating the circumstances of the hijacking and abduction.

The woman was hijacked by four armed men who forced her into her VW Polo before driving off with her in the vehicle earlier this morning.

The hijacked vehicle has been recovered in KwaMashu C Section.
