Umbilo businessman’s killer gets life

The suspects were arrested in the Gauteng by the KZN Task Team.

THE Durban Regional Court sentenced Ayanda Shezi to life imprisonment, for the murder of Umbilo businessman Kidesh Ramjettan.

The two other accused are in custody and they will be back in court on 22 November 2018 as further investigations continue.

The suspects were arrested in Gauteng by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Task Team and the firearm believed to be used during the shooting was also recovered.

On 22 August at 4.15pm, the victim was outside his business premises on South Coast Road, Umbilo talking to his friend when an unknown suspect approached them.

The suspect allegedly shot and killed him before fleeing the scene on foot. A case of murder was opened at Umbilo Police Station for further investigation. The docket was assigned to the Provincial Task Team for investigation.
