THE focus was on play recently when the Point and Inner City Early Childhood Development (ECD) Forum, a programme in eThekwini’s iTrump Area Based Management precinct, hosted a fun Play Day for local children.
The Ahmed Al-Kadi (AAK) Hospital participated in the Play Day by providing first aid support and first aid education information to the 420 Grade R children between the ages of five and six from 16 ECD sites in the area.

Many of these children live in high-rise buildings with limited access to outdoor living.
The purpose of the event was to offer these children a morning of fun in the fresh air and sunshine where they could participate in outdoor activities, thereby promoting healthy lifestyles while enjoying safe, open spaces and the outdoor environment.
“It is important for us here at The AAK to educate, empower and assist our community where we can in the healthcare arena,” said nursing manager Linda Lomax.
