Mahala Market calls for donations

With the fifth and last Mahala Market for 2018 scheduled for 5 November, RHF is appealing for help from the community.

SINCE November last year The Robin Hood Foundation (RHF) has hosted ‘Mahala Markets’ projects in various community to support and bless local gogos and mkulus.

Cindy Norcott, chairlady and founder of RHF said: “Our vision behind these ‘markets’ is to allow the gogos in the community to shop for free and choose over five outfits each and other accessories for themselves as well as take home a hamper of groceries for their families. They get by on so little with their state pensions and in nine out of 10 cases, they also have grandchildren in their care. It always moves us when we see how the gogos go straight to the children’s section and choose shoes and clothes obviously for the grandchildren in their care, so humble and selfless, always putting their families needs before their own.”
