Umbilo murder suspects appear in court

Three suspects appeared in court for the murder of an Umbilo businessman.

THREE suspects appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on 18 October for the murder of Umbilo businessman, Kidesh Ramjettan.

The case was remanded until 25 October when the application for bail will be heard.

The suspects were arrested in Gauteng by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Task Team and the firearm believed to have been used during the shooting was also recovered.

According to Lt Col Thulani Zwane, on 22 August at 4.15pm, Ramjettan was outside his business premises in South Coast Road, Umbilo, talking to his friend when an unknown man approached them.

“The suspect allegedly shot and killed him before fleeing the scene on foot. A case of murder was opened at Umbilo Police Station for further investigation. The docket was assigned to the Provincial Task Team for investigation,” said Zwane.
