Video: Body of Manor Gardens man found gagged, bound

Blue Security's Andreas Mathios said it was unclear at this stage what items were stolen during the robbery.

THE body of an elderly Manor Gardens resident who was robbed and apparently beaten to death in his home in Glenturret Road, Manor Gardens, was discovered on Tuesday, 23 October.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said reports from the scene indicated that the body of the man, believed to be around 72 years old, had been in the house for about two days before being discovered at around 9am on Tuesday.

“Casual labourers who arrived to do some construction work at the property noticed something was amiss when the elderly man did not respond to open the property for them. They flagged down one of our technicians who happened to be driving past the property. He alerted our control centre and an armed response officer was dispatched to the scene,” Mathios said.
