Keep recycling

Orange bags will still be collected as the collection contracts are still in place.

RESIDENTS are encouraged to continue recycling, despite the fact that the municipality’s delivery of orange bags has been suspended due to serious tender irregularities.

While an investigation into the tender is underway, residents are encouraged to recycle. Orange bags are still being collected by contractors and can be purchase from local supermarkets.

A number of protests over the past two years has seen several DSW trucks torched which has negatively impacted on services. However, a large consignment of DSW vehicles are expected to arrive soon which will relieve the pressure on the fleet.

DSW provides residents with 13 weeks’ supply of bags per property. Businesses must register with DSW to get the business service and blocks of flats must also register with DSW so that they can receive the required service. Contact DSW at: DSW@durban.gov.za.
