Bikers revved up to ride for hope

Funds raised from the mass ride will enable The Sunflower Fund to create awareness and education about blood stem cell donation.

THE Sunflower Fund in association with Supertech Pinetown and in conjunction with Durban Bikers United, is encouraging all bikers, motorcycle clubs, families and outdoor enthusiasts to join in the 2018 Sunflower Fund Ride4Hope campaign and ride for a worthy cause.

The Mass Breakfast Ride sets off on Sunday, 14 October at 9.30am from the NPN Auto Centre (Shell Garage) at the intersection of St Johns Avenue in Pinetown and will wind its way to the Shongweni Farmers and Craft Market.

The MOTH Motorcycle Association (MMA) in KZN and the Durban Harley Owners Group (HOG) have once again pledged their support.

Registration on the day is between 8am and 9.15am and the fee is a donation of R80 per person which includes a 2018 Sunflower Fund TOPE (Tube of Hope) as well as complimentary coffee from NPN Wimpy or NPN Torrador.

In addition, the first 150 bikers to register will receive a commemorative cloth badge. Food and drinks will be on sale after the ride and a raffle and giveaways will form part of the prize-giving.

Funds raised from the mass ride will enable The Sunflower Fund to create awareness and education about blood stem cell donation, recruit more blood stem cell donors, grow the patient support fund and maintain a registry of committed donors.
