VIDEO: DUT students shut down campus

DUT Steve Bikos campus has been shut down by protesting students.

STUDENTS have shut down classes at Durban University of Technology Steve Biko campus after embarking on strike action earlier today over their sBux allowances which have not been paid.

Khanyisani Khambule, the EFF Student Command chairperson at DUT said the students were striking to raise awareness of their dissatisfaction over the sBux allowances with management.

“We expect management to attend to our grievances as soon as possible. We want the school to take full responsibility for failing to assist the 5000 students who are affected. Some students cannot even register for their semester course while others cannot access residences,” he said.
