SPCA agrees to assist with city’s strays

Durban and Coastal SPCA will perform part of the pound function on behalf of the City.

DURBAN and Coastal SPCA has agreed to perform part of the pound function on behalf of the city over the next three years.

The organisation has signed a memorandum of agreement with the city which will see R13.5 million go to the SPCA over the three years.

In a report tabled at council last week it was revealed that the municipality would engage with the SPCA to discuss the rationalisation of its operations to cover the entire municipal area in particular townships and rural areas.
