Community supports Durban Book Fair

The Durban Book Fair and the Booksellers of Mzansi Project are new initiatives by The Denis Hurley Centre and HashtagBooks.

BOOK lovers flocked to the Durban Book Fair at Mitchell Park recently where two new books, The Goodwill Manor by ZP Dala and The Casbah Family Recipe Book, were launched.

The Durban Book Fair and the Booksellers of Mzansi Project are new initiatives by The Denis Hurley Centre and HashtagBooks.

The projects aim to help the homeless earn a dignified living by empowering them to sell books. The project is part of Denis Hurley’s 100 Days for Nelson Mandela Campaign, which urges people to get involved in various upliftment projects to assist the less fortunate.

On Sunday, Dr Hemant Nowbat, hosted free chess classes and keen players could take part in a Chess Champion Knockout Competition.

The fair is held at Michell Park on the first Saturday of every month, with the next being on Saturday, 1 September.
