Breakfast you can bank on

A powerful line-up inspired attendees at the sold out FNB Business Women's Breakfast.

HUNDREDS of businesswomen from various sectors in KwaZulu-Natal were inspired to #BeUnstoppable at this year’s FNB Business Women’s Breakfast, partnered with East Coast Radio, at the Durban ICC on Monday.

The sold out event saw South African business leaders Basetsana Kumalo, Lynette Ntuli, Emma Sadleir and Dr Judy Dlamini share their insights and experience in both a professional and personal capacity.

Basetsana Kumalo, the Executive Chairman and CEO of Basetsana Woman Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd, delved into what makes someone #BeUnstoppable, “those who are unstoppable are in their own world. They don’t compete with anyone but themselves. You never know what they will do, only that you will be forced to respond.” Kumalo, well-known for being the Executive Chairperson of Tswelopele Productions that produces Top Billing and Pasella, went on to remind women in attendance that their passion will make them #BeUnstoppable: “The only person standing between yourself and your power is you. Go forth and master yourself, go forth and #BeUnstoppable, go forth and make a difference in the world.”

Lynette Ntuli, founder and CEO of Innate Investment Solutions, also wowed the attendees with her keynote address. Having held senior leadership roles across various sectors she directed women to be intentional and ask for what they want. “As women in all areas of our society, across race, class, age and education, we find ourselves in perhaps one of the most defining periods in history of our place, our voice, our influence and our power. At a time so fraught with challenges, but also laden with the opportunity to be at the forefront of solutions and new ideas, may we not lose sight of the finish line and only stop when we are done.”

A panel discussion, chaired by Professor Nick Binedell, further explored the tenacity necessary to #BeUnstoppable. Joining Kumalo and Ntuli were social media law expert Emma Sadleir and renowned entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist Dr Judy Dlamini.

Head of Marketing at FNB, Nancy Lockett explained the events significance, “we believe that business is what is going to change South Africa in terms of creating jobs and really opening up new markets. We are seeing an increase in women starting businesses, running businesses and growing businesses.”
