The BGM program included guest speaker and director of groundwork Bobby Peek, who spoke about the importance of activism and congratulated SDCEA on keeping it alive and continuing to fight against polluting industries and corporates. Thereafter the chairperson and coordinator responsible for the day-to-day running of the SDCEA reported on the history of the organisation and how the organisation had grown in the last 23 years.

“We are proud to note that many organisations have recognised its work with the community and would therefore like to join the SDCEA in the various campaigns and projects which they work on to challenge big corporate companies and government,” said Groom.
