#WomensMonth: Yolanda, an ambassador for the aged

"The workshops will offer creative entertainment for elderly."

YOU might have spotted her walking around town. Eccentric in appearance, many people may wonder who she is.

“Vendors and people in the Durban CBD call me Makhosi,” says 69-year- old Yolanda Armien who describes herself as a psychic author and spiritual consultant.

“I have been a resident at the Natal Settlers since 2005. I am an author of The Hybrid Angels from Eden and am in the process of completing my second book, but this time around I am searching for publisher to help me publish my new book titled The Medusa Chronicles. The book is the confirmation of the truths about the creation myth and points around planet earth where star-folk have come to earth since the dawn of human creation, interlinking human DNA and evolution,” said Armien. The Hybrid Angels from Eden is a spiritual scientific book based upon original sin. It was written through the gift of automatic writing with daily meditation and help from angels and spirit guides.

“The book may help one along the difficult trenches in life to find balance from the everyday stresses, break the bondage of limitations and individual karma, to find peace on earth,” explained Armien.

When not working on finding a publisher for her book, which she says is an antidote for the high stress levels in the country, Armien is also an ambassador for the frail and aged at the home. She is currently in the process of creating arts and crafts workshops for the elderly at the home.

“The project is already at an advanced stage, as I have approached business people who have offered to help. The creative workshops will mainly offer some creative entertainment for the elderly. We would appreciate help with some occupational therapy to enhance their existing skills like knitting, baking, sewing and other art and crafts. The plan is also to take them for outings, which I think they really needed because some of them hardly have any visitors. I just want to bring happiness into the lives of the elderly whom have been forgotten,” she said.

Anyone wishing to help Armien with the project can contact her at 060 686 7752 or email yarmienkzn@gmail.com.
