Search is on for missing DUT student

Madlala is studying Information and Communications at DUT.

THE Durban University of Technology (DUT) and the Madlala family are looking for help in finding Andile Madlala of Umlazi CC Section.

Madlala was last seen on Sunday evening, 5 August, at the BB Section in Umlazi Police Station where he wrote an affidavit alleging people were out to kill him.

Andile Madlala is a first year student at the Durban University of Technology.

Madlala is a first year student, studying towards a Diploma: Information and Communications Technology at the Durban University of Technology.

DUT spokesperson Nduduzo Ndlovu said: “We have also been informed that there are also voice notes he has sent to his peers where his speech is unclear. According to his family, Madlala has been showing frequent signs of depression since the beginning of 2018. He has also attended counselling sessions with the University therapists.”

If anyone has seen or hears from Madlala, they are urged to contact his grandmother Mrs Gugu Buthelezi at 073 4844 986/061 598 1286 or SAPS BB Section in Umlazi at 031 908 0000. Alternatively email the DUT Communications Department at Communications@dut.ac.za.
