Speed calming will be implemented in six roads in Morningside.

IN response to requests for speed calming on certain roads in Morningside, the city has given its approval for speed bumps be placed in Bornick Road, Kittymeer Lane, Peace Avenue, Annerley Road, Larch Road and Maple Road.

Ward 27 councillor, Martin Meyer said funding was being sought to implement the decision.

“I am hoping these will be done soon. I have been told that Churchill Road and Harvey Road are being budgeted for in the financial year, which is before July next year,” he said.

Meyer said he would continue to put pressure on the municipality for speed calming in other roads, as requested by residents.
