Supporters trickle in at Zuma vigil

Jacob Zuma's supporters are making their way to Albert Park in Durban where an all-night vigil is being held in support of the former president.

THERE is an air of festivity in Albert Park Durban where an all-night vigil in support of former president Jacob Zuma is underway.

Groups of supporters have been trickling into the venue all evening and a number of church leaders are present. A stage has been erected at the park and there is live entertainment. The vigil, which ends at 8am on Friday morning, was organised by the Interfaith Leadership.

There is also a strong police presence in the area.  Former president Jacob Zuma is due to appear in the Durban High Court tomorrow morning where he faces 16 charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering.
