VIDEO: Memorial service for Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela gets underway at People’s Park

A memorial service for Winnie Madikizela Mandela will be held at People's Park Moses Mabhida Stadium this afternoon.

A book of remembrance for the late Winnie Madikizela Mandela is currently open outside the Durban City Hall and people are invited to go along and sign it. This is part of EThekwini Municipality’s memorial for Mrs Mandela who died last week.

The city will host a joint memorial service for Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela today, 12 April  at the Moses Mabhida People’s Park where buses are currently ferrying in people who will be addressed by  leaders from different political formations, religious leaders including leaders  from provincial and national government.

This joint programme was originally planned to be held at different venues but after consultation, it was decided that this should be held jointly at a bigger venue.
