The Acapella group is returning to South Africa, Durban, for the first time, after winning in the category of Best World Music for their latest album, Shaka Zulu Revisited.

Gumede said the group is an official partner and ambassador of the City of Durban. “The group fly the City’s flag high. Their performing gear is branded with the city’s logo and their music communicates Durban’s attractions.”

“It is important to celebrate these local music icons achievements because their success is ours. They have a line-up of events where they will continue positioning Durban as they start their European tour soon and will perform at the Queen’s birthday ceremony in London,” she said.

Proceedings of the celebrations will kick-start on 11 April. Gumede will be joined by artists and family members to welcome Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the King Shaka International Airport at 4.30pm.
