Hunt Road construction details

Roadworks construction will start on 3 April.

THE implementation date to switch Hunt Road from a two-way to one-way road is Tuesday, 3 April.

According to Tony Whitfield from MCA Architects, the intersections to both King Dinuzulu (Berea) Road and Che Guevara (Moore) Road will be operational during construction however on a one lane open system to allow for the flow of traffic. Work will be undertaken on the road between 7am and 4pm weekdays only, excluding public holidays.

“All necessary barricades and Health and Safety Signage will be in place rendering the work area safe from the public. The contract duration will be approximately eight weeks dictated to by inclement weather, when it could be extended,” he said.

Work will include expansion of the road to incorporate parking on either side of the two lanes, as well as walkways. Signage will also be installed notifying motorists of the one-way direction from King Dinuzulu (Berea) Road as well as a no entry sign at Che Guevara Road.
