Community Chest hosts Day of Caring

The Community Chest will host its 20th annual Day of Caring next week.

6COMMUNITY Chest will host its 20th annual Day of Caring, with more than 120 volunteers participating in this event on Wednesday, 14 March.

The Day of Caring is a one-day voluntary work experience project. This year volunteers from nine companies will work at nine different projects, some of which include painting classrooms, murals, exterior buildings and gardening.

Companies in and around Durban will assist with donations and sponsorship of all the materials that are needed to complete the projects. Dulux Specialist Paint centre stores, based in Durban North and on Mathews Mewiya Road have committed once again to sponsor all the paint, brushes and material needed for this year’s event.

The day starts with a sponsored breakfast, when all volunteers meet at the Berea Congregational Church hall. They then depart to their assigned projects. At the end of their work day, each team is awarded with a thank you frame.
