MOTH Flora seeks flower supplier

MOTH Flora is seeking a wholesale flower supplier to enable the fundraising service to continue.

MOTH Flora, a fundraising initiative which has been in operation at Stellawood Cemetery selling flowers at reasonable prices since 1965, is appealing to a flower supplier for help.

According to Barbara Ward from MOTH Flora, Mr Ramlakan, who with his family has supplied MOTH Flora with flowers since they opened 52 years ago, wishes to retire and is cutting down on deliveries.

“We can understand that he needs to slow down, but we urgently need another wholesale flower supplier to provide this service to us. MOTH Flora has been trying for over six months to find a supplier, without any joy,” said Barbara.

MOTH Flora has in the past 18 years ploughed hundreds of thousands of Rands back into charity through the sale of flowers and this would represent a great loss should they have to close down.

“It will have a huge effect on the MOTH Cottages as this is a fundraiser for the Cottages. This is such a great service, as we sell the most reasonably priced flowers in the area, and provide flowers for all occasions, including weddings, birthdays, the birth of new babies, anniversaries and for people to place on graves at the cemetery,” she said.

MOTH Flora operates at the main entrance to Stellawood Cemetery on weekends and public holidays that fall on a Friday or Monday.

If any flower suppliers can help, they should contact Barbara on 031 205 2666.
