Two arrested for dagga possession

Two suspects were arrested for possesion of dagga in Warwick Avenue.

TWO suspects were arrested at the Victoria bus rank on 23 January for being in possession of a large amount of dagga.

According to Const Zanele Khomo from Durban Central SAPS, at around 9.30am members of Durban Central Crime prevention were patrolling along Warwick Avenue when they sported a Toyota Corolla which was parked inside the bus rank.

“The officers approached the said vehicle which had two occupants. Upon searching the vehicle members found a big grey bag inside the boot. Inside was a black plastic bag which contained dagga. Another bag also was recovered inside the vehicle which also had dagga inside,” she said.

Khomo said the dagga found weighed 9.9kg. Two suspects were arrested and charged for possession of dagga.

“Both suspect will appear in Durban Magistrates court in due course while the investigation continues,” she said.
