A 46-year career at Netcare Parklands Hospital came to an end for Thumbu Richard Dladla who was bid a fond farewell by his fellow colleagues recently.

Dladla joined Netcare Parklands Hospital in 1972 and over the years has worked in various departments, his final placement being in the technical services department. Fuad Salie, general hospital manager, said Richard knew the hospital plan by heart and was passionately able to navigate and give specific details on the landscape in order for maintenance work to be undertaken.

“His fatherly demeanour, by sharing experience and knowledge, holds him in good stead as he is respected by all. His work ethic inspires and motivates the Parklands family,” he said. Richard is married and has nine children, He enjoys fishing, bowling, hunting in his leisure time and supports Ibhakabhka – Pirates.

As the longest serving employee at Netcare Parklands Hospital, Richard is dearly loved and cherished especially for his sound advice and great sense of humour.

“On behalf of Netcare Parklands Hospital Management and staff we salute and congratulate Mr Richard Dladla for his loyalty and commitment and extend our heartfelt gratitude,” said Fuad.
