THE annual pensioners’ year-end function is just around the corner and ward councillors hope to make the highly anticipated event even better than last year.
Ward 31 councillor Chris Pappas said the organising team is hard at work making the event extra special for the most valuable community members.
“No date has been set yet but we will communicate the date to the community as soon as it has been set. There are 600 spaces available. These tickets are usually distributed through the ward councillors office but political interference in the process means that the ward councillor always receives less than the 600 allocated per ward,” he said.

Pappas said more information on the distribution of tickets will be provided once the municipality communicates the details to ward councillors.
