Foundation hosts free Wellness Day

All health NGOs and NPOs and the community are encouraged to attend.

THE Medic Alert Foundation of Southern Africa will host a wellness day on Saturday, 28 October from 10am until 2.30pm at Diakonia Centre, 20 Diakonia Avenue, Durban

All health NGOs and NPOs and the community are encouraged to attend.

Learn more about breast cancer awareness, cancer treatment and Cancer Buddies Support and speak to specialist health care providers as well as survivors.

The Foundation will also speak on its products and membership advantages.

People can also listen to a guest speaker discuss what Carbohydrate Resistance (CR) is and why many people are physiologically unable to effectively clear glucose, and discover how the increase of adult diabetes and obesity can be directly linked to the fashionable high carbohydrate or low fat diet.

There will also be advice on effective management of diabetes and support for those diagnosed.

There will be stalls to peruse and health specialists will check blood pressure, sugar levels, body mass index and HIV status.

Food and coffee will be sold at Diakonia.
