Drop off clothes for Mahala Market drive

Willow in Windermere is an official drop off point for Robin Hood’s Mahala Market campaign.

THERE is a new local drop-off point for the Robin Hood Foundation’s “Mahala Markets”, which will be hosted over the next few months.

The first Mahala Market will be set up in Embo where 200 gogos have been invited to ‘shop for free’ and Robin Hood Foundation is hoping to bless them with at least five new outfits each of their choosing.

Kim Griffith Jones said: “Our chairlady Cindy Norcott’s vision behind this ‘market’ is to allow the gogos in the communities in which we are hosting these markets to shop for free and choose outfits and other accessories for themselves. They get by on so little with their state pensions and in nine out of 10 cases, they also have grandchildren in their care that they support, so this Mahala Market will be an exciting day for them, a little treat they so deserve but cannot afford.”

Willow Clothing Boutique is an official drop off point for Robin Hood’s Mahala Market campaign. Pop in and drop off your gently worn clothes – any age and size – at Shop 5A, Windermere Centre, 163 Lilian Ngoyi Road, Durban. If you’d like to get involved email info@robinhoodfoundation.co.za.
