Community respond to Lacey Road appeal

Collection points have been set up at the Bright Eyes Centre, 135 Bellevue Road, Berea, between 8am and 1pm, or at The Berea Mail offices at 115 Escom Road, New Germany.

THERE has been an overwhelming response from the community of Berea and beyond, following the article that appeared in last week’s Berea Mail on Ntombinye Nojiyeza who runs the Thubalethu Creche in the Lacey Road informal settlement.

There have been many pledges in response to the list of items needed which inlcuded food, clothes, toys, nappies and building material as the school needs some revamping. The roof leaks when it rains, there are some broken windows and the door does not lock properly.

In response, collection points have been set up at the Bright Eyes Centre, 135 Bellevue Road, Berea, between 8am and 1pm, or at The Berea Mail offices at 115 Escom Road, New Germany.
