Generous donations from breast cancer month

A total of R120 000 was donated to local cancer charities this week.

Leigh Smit, Indera Maharaj from Reach for Recovery, Heather Walker from Highway Hospice and Dr Susan Chick from the Just for Women Mammography Centre.

LAKE Smit and Partners and the Just for Women Mammography Centre in Overport handed over two cheques to local cancer charities this week.

Representatives from Reach for Recovery and Highway Hospie met up for the annual cheque handover where R60 000 was donated to each of the two organisations.

This was a percentage of the proceeds of mammograms given at the Just for Women Mammography Centre during October, Breast Cancer Awareness month, last year.
