TAFTA is rolling out the red carpet this month in anticipation of its 60th anniversary next year. On Friday, 11 August, Tafta's latest cinema advertisement will be launched at Suncoast CineCentre.
The iconic non-profit organisation, which has served KwaZulu-Natal’s senior citizens for more than five decades, has helped care for more than 7500 pensioners.
Committed to alleviating the stress of the elderly and enhancing their quality of life, Tafta has cemented its reputation as a leader in providing safe, sheltered housing and care for elderly people in need within the EThekwini region.
“We have indeed come a long way and this would only have been possible through the hard work and dedication from our committed team – from management right through to the volunteers who selflessly give off their time to make a significant difference to the lives of our residents. According to Shamam, the cinema advertisement, which will flight for the first time at the movie screening event, is an exciting first for the organisation as it will share a touching representation of the organisation’s work and its relevance in the viewer’s journey through life.
“Our guests will have the opportunity to reflect on our promise to care for an aging society and continue the dialogue on 60 years of the past and the roles Tafta has played in advancing our community work and advocacy,” she said.
In an environment of diminishing state support, it is through investments and on-going support from donors and the broader public that will determine Tafta’s sustainability in elderly care and in accomplishing its vision.
