Registration opens for Durban Business Fair

Interested businesses have until 14 August to register for this year's Durban Business Fair.

REGISTRATION for the 19th annual Durban Business Fair, which will take place at the Durban Exhibition Centre, is now open and interested businesses have until 14 August to register.

The fair, which runs parallel to the renowned Essence Festival Durban 2017, is expected to attract thousands of visitors both locally and abroad. The business show will commence with a series of empowerment activities aimed at equipping entrepreneurs with the appropriate skills to grow and sustain their businesses.

This year, the City has invited prominent business experts, both local and international, to share their expertise with local entrepreneurs to help advance their business knowledge.

The Durban Business Fair runs from 29 September to 1 October and will provide an opportunity for visitors to explore innovation and talents displayed by both emerging and established businesses. The fair will be preceded by a three-day business seminar from 26 to 28 September.

EThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede said the Durban Business Fair was one of the municipal programmes initiated to unlock potential and encourage economic inclusion of businesses in the mainstream economy of the City.

“It is exciting to see the level of interest already shown in the Durban Business Fair. This project has yielded positive results and has shown great potential in uplifting the business sector. It plays a vital role in addressing the triple challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality that remains entrenched in some parts of the City,” she said
