SBV offers R1m reward after cash heist

SBV Services has appealed to the public with information on the attack on its crew this morning, or other cash in transit related crime, to notify SBV Services or the SAPS immediately.

SBV services is offering a R1 million reward for information leading to the successful arrests and conviction of the perpetrators who, earlier this morning, 24 July, attacked and robbed a crew of four of the company’s protection officers while they were travelling near the Long Tom Pass in the Nelspruit area.

Mark Barrett, CEO South Africa commended his team for bravely attempting to defend the violent attack.  “We are working with the authorities on the investigation and will not spare any resources in our efforts to ensure that the individuals responsible are brought to justice. SBV makes ongoing investments in technology, security systems and our vehicles. Furthermore, our professional investigations team works closely with the authorities and we support them in their efforts to fight against those who threaten our industry and society at large,” he said.  Unfortunately, the protection officers were injured in the attack and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
