Share a meal with Durban’s homeless

Durbanites are encouraged to help raise funds to assist the homeless at this year's iDare2Share campaign.

DURBAN’s communities are invited to engage with the homeless citizens of the city by sharing their time, a meal and some music at the third iDre2Share campaign hosted by I CARE and the Denis Hurley Centre, on Friday 14 July.

This year the event has been moved to the safety of the Denis Hurley Centre’s Cathedral Mall. The evening starts at 6pm with an opening prayer service in the Cathedral and ends at around 10.30pm with the option of sleeping over. Gates open at 5pm for registration.

I Care is encouraging participants to aim to raise R1 000 by getting friends to sponsor them (R100 of which will be used as your admission fee). The money raised will go towards I Care and the Denis Hurley Centre to continue the work they do with Durban’s homeless. Dinner will be provided. Take cool drinks and something sweet to share with the homeless.

There will be live music performances by artists including John Ellis, Michael Wagner, Campbell Colledge and others.
