Man shot as armed robbers hit cellphone store

Two armed suspects held up a cellphone store this morning.

A man was shot in the foot during a armed robbery of a cell phone store in Kensington Square, Durban North this morning.

According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, two armed men entered the store demanding cellphones and cash.  One of the men fired a shot which struck one of the shopkeepers, a 26-year-old man,  in the left foot. He was treated at the scene by Crisis Care Medical before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Paramedics treat the victim who sustained a gunshot wound to his foot.

The suspects fled the centre on foot with two cellphones and an undisclosed sum of money before getting into a getaway vehicle.

SAPS are investigating.
