A young driver, believed to be 18 years old, sustained serious injuries in a motor vehicle collision on Umgeni Road this afternoon.
According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, Crisis Medical Emergency Care, arrived at approximately 2.30pm to find a BMW had overturned coming to a rest on its roof and was occupying the roadway.

The driver and single occupant of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize him before he was taken to hospital.
Reports from the scene suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with several other vehicles, before overturning.
There were no injuries sustained by any other motorists involved in the incident.
Traffic in the area was severely affected as emergency services worked to clear the scene.
The local authorities are investigating.
