Ela Gandhi celebrated at park anniversary

The occasion will celebrate the life of eThekwini Metro’s Living Legend, Ela Gandhi, as well as the 70th anniversary of Resistance Park.

SASTRI College Alumni Association and Sastri College in association with the Parks, Leisure and Cemeteries will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Passive Resistance Campaign of 1946/1947 on Saturday 3 June, starting at 1.30pm at Resistance Park in Umbilo Road, Durban.

The occasion will also celebrate the life of eThekwini Metro’s Living Legend, Ela Gandhi, grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhi, who has dedicated her life to the propagation of Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence and passive resistance in the struggle for liberation.
