Breaking: High angle rescue underway to save person trapped under Connaught Bridge

EMERGENCY Rescue services are currently setting up a rope system on the Connaught Bridge over the Umgeni River to rescue a person who is trapped under the bridge.

IPSS, SAPS Search and rescue and Rescue Care paramedics are at the scene and undertaking a high angle rescue. It is unknown how the person got trapped under the bridge.
