New Rugby Kit for Brettonwood High School

The academy was launched to transform the game of rugby

BRETTONWOOD High School in Umbilo has received new rugby jerseys from Awqaf South Africa through the Prince Xulu Rugby Academy. The academy, a Durban based NPO, was launched to transform the game of rugby. It trains coaches and new players from disadvantaged communities.

Nicholas Dlamini, the school’s principal thanked The Prince Xulu Rugby for having Brettonwood high school in mind and AWQAF SA for its generous sponsorship. “Your support is not something we take lightly and is very much appreciated by the school. We will make sure we live up to the expectations,” he said.

A representative from Awqaf, Ebrahim Vawda said the organisation invested in a variety of community development projects and programmes promoting Integrated Community Development and Self-Reliance. “We hope the donation will go a long way in inspiring the kids to believe in themselves,” he said.

Awqaf SA is an independent community-based and owned trust, dedicated to the establishment of the institution of Awaqf and the empowerment of communities.
