WATCH: Pets rescued in Kinmont house blaze

The owners escaped unharmed after a fire ripped through a Glenwood home earlier today.

A HOUSE in Kinmont Crescent in Glenwood, has been gutted by fire. According Rescue Care Paramedics, the owners managed to escape unharmed.

“Just before 7am today, we responded to the call for a house on fire in the Glenmore area. On arrival we found that the house was well alight.”

 

 

“The owners of the house escaped unharmed however, three dogs had to be rescued by Blue Security, Glenmore Neighbourhood Watch as well as Rescue Care Paramedics.”

“Apparently there were four birds inside the residence, but this could not be confirmed,” he said, adding that the eThekwini Fire arrived and worked hard to douse the blaze.

 

 

“Rescue Care Paramedics stood by in case any injuries were sustained,” said Garrith Jamieson Operations Director of Rescue Care Paramedics.

It was later confirmed that two birds had died and three dogs were rescued. At this stage the exact cause of the fire is unknown however SAPS and Durban Fire Department will be investigating further.

This follows the devastating blaze that ripped through a home on Currie Road at the weekend.
