UMBILO SAPS urges all petrol stations in the area to beef up their security following an armed robbery on 5 March.
According to Capt Pumzile Makaula, communications officer at Umbilo SAPS, at around 2.45am there was an armed robbery at the Engen garage in Umbilo.
Seven men, some of them armed with firearms, stormed the garage and got away on foot.
Cash and cigarettes were taken. This is not the first incident of an armed robbery and we appeal to all garages to beef up security,” she said.
Umbilo SAPS is investigating a case of armed robbery.
