Busy afternoon for paramedics

The police will be investigating the cause of two collisions in the Glenwood area on Saturday afternoon.

RESCUE Care Paramedics responded to two accidents in Durban on Saturday afternoon.

In the first incident, five people were injured after four vehicles collided at the corner of Alan Paton (Mc Donald) and Bulwer Roads in Davenport at around 3pm.

“Rescue Care Paramedics responded to the multiple vehicle pile up. On arrival they found that four vehicles were involved. After assessing the scene it was found that five people had sustained minor to moderate injuries and they were all stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals for further care,” said Garrith Jamieson from Rescue Care.

He said four people were injured in a second accident, when two vehicles collided before one overturned coming to rest on its roof in Umbilo Road near Hilier Road.

“Just after 4.30pm Rescue Care Paramedics were called to the scene. Four people had sustained various injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals,” said Jamieson.

He said at this stage the exact causes of the collisions were unknown however SAPS were on scene of both accidents and will be investigating further.
