Umbilo detectives commended
Wally Coombe from Glenmore/Umbilo Neighbourhood Watch commended police who worked tirelessly to arrest a robber.
UMBILO detectives were commended after the arrest of a man who had been robbing women in the Glenmore area from last November.
According to Wally Coombe from Glenmore/Umbilo Neighbourhood Watch, the man was spotted on CCTV camera footage robbing a woman in Glenmore on 29 November, and the docket was given to Umbilo detectives to investigate.
“The detectives worked hand-in-hand with us and went out at 2am where the man was found and arrested in Cato Manor,” said Coombe.
He said police are hoping to link the suspect to six other robberies.
“The community is often negative about the Umbilo police, however the members worked hard on this case. There aren’t many cops who will work those hours, and we thank them for the good work,” he said.
