Glenwood boy is a Protea shooter

Dylan is one of four athletes to be selected to participate in Germany as part of the Protea team in May.

GLENWOOD High School’s Dylan Drysdale has been selected as a Protea shooter by the SAARA Executive Committee and has been approved by SASCOC.

Dylan is one of four athletes (two from Gauteng, one from Western Cape and one from Eastern Cape) to be selected to participate in Germany as part of the Protea team in May.

It took four years of hard work, lots of training, self-discipline and determination for Dylan to be chosen to be part of the Protea team. He is the second athlete in the history of Glenwood to be bestowed this honour, with James Wylie the first in 2014.

Dylan will take part in the Oldenberg International on 6 May and the International Shooting Competition of Hanover on 9 May. He will also travel to Grahamstown in February to participate in the EC Open Championship. At this event, Dylan will be presented with his green and gold blazer by the President of SAARA National.

Competing internationally is nothing new for Dylan who has already competed in London in 2014 as a SAARA SA shooter and in Germany in 2015 as a SA Development shooter. This time around he will compete against the best in the world as all competitors will be eager to earn points for world ranking to qualify for the upcoming Youth Olympics and Commonwealth Games.
