TWO men were arrested following a carjacking in Bellevue Road, Berea, on 18 January.
According to Capt PN Naidoo, The vehicle was fitted with a tracker and about an hour after the carjacking, the vehicle was recovered in Pinetown.
“Two suspects were arrested by the K9 Unit and Pinetown SAPS. This was possible because of the quick response of the police and the help of the tracker,” said Naidoo.
He said one of the suspects involved in the carjacking was shot and killed at the scene and another suspect got away with the get-away vehicle, a white Audi.
“The hijacked vehicle and a firearm were recovered,” he said.
Housebreakers detained
CAPTAIN K Stephens and his team received information about a housebreaking while on patrol on 18 January.
With the help of security company MI 7, two suspects in a white VW Polo were arrested and a TV was recovered.
The suspects were detained at Berea SAPS.
