Extending the spirit of giving

St Martin's Children's Home was selected as a charity to receive a kind donation from the Pavilion Shopping Centre.

ST Martin’s Children’s Home in Glenwood received a donation of R12 000 in shopping vouchers for the home.

The home, which was founded in 1897, is one of the longest serving children’s homes in South Africa. It cares for the needs of over 75 abused, and orphaned, abandoned and neglected children. It provides an essential and important service in the lives of the children who reside there as well as outreach projects that are geared to help children in need.

Each year, the Pavilion looks at donating to a worthy charity and this year wanted to give to less fortunate children. St Martin’s was the specific home chosen after one of the centre’s tenants was alerted to St Martin’s plight. Through their donation they hope to make a difference in the lives of the children.

General manager Nisha Kemraj, said: “We are delighted to have been able to assist St Martins.”
