Police search for witness

Durban Central Police is seeking assistance to solve a housebreaking case in the Durban CBD.

DURBAN Central Detectives are appealing to the community to assist them with a case of housebreaking and theft they are investigating.

According to Lt Col Thulani Zwane, it is alleged that on 13 October 2016 at about 5.20pm the owner of a shop in Victoria Street, Durban, locked his business premises and activated an alarm.

“The next day at about 4.15am, he received a phone call from his security company informing him that his business premises has been broken into. He proceeded to the shop and noticed that the roller shuttle door had been cut and a glass window was broken,” he said.

A laptop and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

“It is believed that the perpetrators used a white Quantum as a getaway vehicle. The man in the CCTV camera footage provided to the police can be of assistance in solving the case,” said Zwane.
