Notorious prison escape artist dies in King Edward hospital

Notorious Mozambique born most wanted criminal and escape artist died in hospital yesterday.

CONVICTED serial rapist and armed robber, the notorious Ananias Mathe, has died.

According to media reports, Mathe, who earned the nickname The Prison Breaker and Houdini of C-Max, died in King Edward VIII hospital on Tuesday.

Mathe earned notoriety after his many attempts and escape from Pretoria’s C-Max prison in 2006. He made his escape by covering his entire body in petroleum jelly to climb out of a small window of his cell in the maximum security prison and broke through a wall surrounding the window.

News of the serial rapist and armed robber’s death spread on social media with at least 5000 tweets today making it the top trend for today.

Mathe had allegedly been suffering complications from a “digestive issue” for the past three months according to TMG Digital.
