Body of drowned man recovered
The two-day search for a matric learner who drowned on the Durban beachfront sadly concluded a little while ago.
THE search for a young man who was presumed to have drowned sadly ended after an intense two days.
Captain Nqobile Gwala, a provincial police spokesperson confirmed that police divers from the Durban Search and Rescue unit had recovered the body of Cebisani Mbonambi (20) in front of the Durban Undersea Club.
eThekwini’s search and rescue teams joined efforts in the two-day search for Mbonambi who is believed to be a matric learner.
“Mbonambi drowned in the early hours of Saturday morning. An inquest docket will opened at Point police station for investigation,” Gwala said.
