Man brutally stabbed to death in Cowey Road business
Berea police are investigating the murder of a Cowey Road business manager who was stabbed to death last night.
THE manager of a green grocer store in Problem Mkhize (Cowey) Road was brutally stabbed to death in what appears to be a business robbery last night.
According to Captain PN Naidoo, communications officer at Berea SAPS, Berea’s Crime Prevention Unit was called to the scene late last night.
“When officers arrived they discovered the body of the man who is believed to be in his 30s. He had multiple stab wounds,” he explained.
An officer at the scene told Berea Mail upon arriving he noticed the door to the store was slightly ajar. The police entered the store to investigate and found a trail of blood which they followed into an office where the man was found. He has sustained stab wounds to his body, hands and head.
Meanwhile Captain Nqobile Gwala, provincial police spokesperson said charges of murder and business robbery were being investigated by Berea SAPS however no arrests have been made at this stage.
The store has since been closed.
